Position MEP Project Engineer

Location New Haven, CT

Overview We are seeking a seasoned and skilled MEP Project Engineer with a strong background in Architecture and Civil Engineering to oversee and coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for a construction project in New Haven, CT. The ideal candidate will have a multidisciplinary understanding, ensuring that MEP installations are fully integrated with architectural designs and civil structures, maintaining quality, safety, and compliance standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Review and interpret architectural, civil, and MEP design drawings, specifications, and construction documents to develop detailed installation plans.

Coordinate with civil and architectural teams during design modifications and during the construction phase to accommodate site conditions and unforeseen challenges.

Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems on-site.

Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Provide technical support and resolve technical issues during construction and commissioning phases.

Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and project close-out reports.

Ensure adherence to local codes, standards, and regulations.

Assist in the scoping review, budgeting, and justification of MEP change work order.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience managing MEP systems in construction projects.

Proven experience as an MEP Engineer or Project Engineer in construction projects.

Strong understanding of architectural and civil design principles and their impact on MEP systems integration.

Excellent project management and communication skills.

Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.

Proficiency in project management software.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range $120K - $180K (based on experience)
