About the Role Arbour Counseling Services offers flexible, fee‑for‑service school‑based opportunities for Licensed Clinicians or Master’s‑level Clinicians working toward licensure in Allston, MA. School‑based clinicians work in elementary, middle, and high schools delivering mental‑health services to children with a variety of needs, including trauma, anxiety, and depression. Clinicians collaborate with school personnel, outside treatment providers, and families to provide a quality continuum of care.

This position is ideal for those seeking a flexible schedule and supplementary income. Clinicians work in one of our many Boston schools: at least 12 hours a week (2 days) up to 32 hours a week (5 days). Summer off is available; optional home‑based or telehealth summer work may also be offered.

Essential Responsibilities

Assess clients’ or families’ needs and eligibility for services

Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions in accordance with assigned client needs

Collaborate with clients’ families, schools, other medical service providers, state agencies, other mental‑health services (including crisis services), and community agencies to support clients

Deliver case management, referrals, and treatment planning for assigned clients

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the agency, community, and referral sources

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related mental‑health field from an accredited college or university

Completed an internship during the Master’s program (45 credits)

CANS certification preferred (can be obtained after hiring if needed)

Nonjudgmental ability to foster self‑sufficiency using problem‑solving and practical skills

Ability to establish trusting relationships through compassion, empathy, and insight

Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of clients from diverse cultural or linguistic backgrounds

Excellent time‑management skills to maintain appointments and timely record keeping

Appropriate citizenship work documentation

Pass a CORI and drug test, as well as other pre‑employment documentation
