Virtual Sales Engineer (VTS) – Northeast (Remote)
Acting as a single point of contact for customers both pre- and post-sale activities and taking ownership of the open territory and lapsed service customers to drive sales, that's where you come in - we believe our people make it happen. Main Responsibilities
Act as a single point of contact for customers providing pre- and post-sale activities for sales under a prescribed dollar amount and complexity.
Collaborate and communicate with outside sales personnel to ensure full coverage of customer needs.
Proactively follow up on warm marketing leads and requested quotes for Service Business Line.
Provide general information on all Service Products.
Takes ownership of open territory and lapsed service customers to drive sales.
Works with applications and tech support team to offer product alternatives to best meet customer requirements and support sales objectives.
Recognize that a customer of one product could also purchase other Leybold products and set up leads for new equipment, field service and service contract opportunities.
Demonstrate proactive selling of Leybold service products. Identifies opportunities for expanding the sale through additional options and complimentary products.
Maintains customer databases.
Document customer activity using our CRM.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to type or dial and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. This position requires frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Scope of the Job
Geographical scope of the role: Export, PA.
Interaction skills required for the role: phone, email and chat correspondence with internal and external customers.
Pattern of work cycle: Fast paced environment with a variety of tasks.
Non-Money Measures: Customer response time, value of opportunities won, customer survey results and feedback from departments supported.
People: The number of people reporting to the role – zero. The number of people/functions to whom a service is provided – North American customer base and internal contacts in sales.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Education Level
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Relevant Previous Experience
Entry Level, 1-3 years of technical experience preferred.
Vacuum equipment or selling of technical product experience a plus.
Knowledge areas/Skills
Excellent oral & written communication skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office Products.
Customer-focused mindset with a collaborative spirit.
Strong critical thinking skills.
Attention to details and problem-solving abilities.
Phenomenal teammate who is flexible and adaptable.
A self-starter with strong work ethic.
Other Requirements
Multilingual skills, especially in Spanish, are a plus.
Valid driver's license.

Travel and Remote Work This position offers a remote work arrangement; however, in-office presence will be required during the initial training period to support onboarding and team integration. Training will take place at our Leybold USA Inc. facility in Export, PA. Upon successful completion of training, the role will transition to a fully remote setup. This position will require 5-10% travel.
