Job Summary
Provides the appropriate Human Resource leadership and services to support the mission of Baptist Memorial Hospital. Supports leaders, managers, and employees in employee relations, benefits, employment, compensation, payroll, and worker’s compensation. Reviews planned disciplinary actions, recommends investigations, and documents alternative actions. Coordinates with Human Resource Assistant, manages operations, and cooperates with external customers, applicants, state/federal agency officials, and labor counsel. Recommends new procedures, monitors compliance with policy, legal, and regulatory requirements including JCAHO and EEOC. Researches, compiles data, and provides input into report design and presentation of special projects. Incumbent provides a full range of Human Resources services 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Additional work and call back hours may be required. This position is under the direction of the Director of Human Resources. Responsibilities
Interprets policy, shares information, and provides timely counsel to management and employees to assure fair and consistent application of rules, regulations, and protocols while minimizing legal risks. Answers customer questions, coordinates work assignments, and provides functional coordination and direction to Human Resource Representative and Human Resource Assistant. Clarifies inquiries and cooperates with external customers to identify needs and meet requirements. Identifies areas of workplace concern to minimize the hospital’s risks, recommends new procedures, and monitors compliance with policy, legal, and regulatory requirements. Assists in the administration of the hospital’s compensation, benefit, performance management, employee relations, and recruitment processes. Coordinates HR projects to support the overall goals and objectives of the department and the hospital. Experience
Minimum 3 years directly related experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Preferred 5 years related experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Education
Minimum required: Baccalaureate degree in Human Resources, business administration, or related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, business administration, or related field. Special Skills
