Position Overview The School of Continuing Education and Professional Development is seeking knowledgeable and motivated instructors to teach workforce and professional development courses in Business, Finance, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. These courses equip adult learners with practical knowledge and tools to launch or grow careers and businesses in a competitive marketplace.

Responsibilities

Delivers instruction in business-related disciplines such as finance, accounting, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Supports adult learners in developing career-ready knowledge and business skills

Designs and delivers engaging instructional content in business-related subjects

Applies real-world examples and case studies to support theory-to-practice learning

Supports entrepreneurial thinking and innovation through hands-on assignments and projects

Utilizes digital tools and platforms for simulations and instruction

Provides constructive feedback to guide student progress and career readiness

Maintains accurate records of attendance and performance

Stays current with industry trends to ensure course content is relevant and up-to-date

Collaborates with program staff to ensure course alignment and quality

Adapts instruction for diverse learning needs and adult learning styles

Designs and delivers business course content relevant to today’s market

Applies real-world case studies and practical tools in instruction

Creates curriculum for both foundational and advanced learners

Evaluates student assignments, projects, and assessments

Facilitates discussions on current trends in business and marketing

Maintains class records and tracks student progress

Supports development of entrepreneurial mindsets among learners

Incorporates digital business tools and simulations in teaching

Collaborates with program coordinators on course alignment

Participates in curriculum review and instructional planning

Qualifications

Master’s degree in a business-related field (e.g., Business Administration, Marketing, Finance) OR

Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of relevant experience OR

Five (5) years of experience as a business owner or industry expert

Strong instructional and interpersonal communication skills

Knowledge of business administration, entrepreneurship, and financial principles

Ability to relate academic content to real-world applications

Familiarity with instructional design and business education methods

Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills

Experience with business technology tools (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks, CRMs)

Ability to assess student performance using practical business tasks

Understanding of adult education and workforce development needs

Creativity in curriculum development and classroom engagement

Organizational skills and attention to instructional planning

Ability to mentor students with entrepreneurial goals

Additional Requirements The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
