Position Overview:
The School of Continuing Education and Professional Development is seeking knowledgeable and motivated instructors to teach workforce and professional development courses in Business, Finance, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. These courses equip adult learners with practical knowledge and tools to launch or grow careers and businesses in a competitive marketplace.
What you will be doing
Deliver instruction in business-related disciplines such as finance, accounting, marketing, and entrepreneurship, supporting adult learners in developing career-ready knowledge and business skills.
Design and deliver engaging instructional content in business-related subjects.
Apply real-world examples and case studies to support theory-to-practice learning.
Support entrepreneurial thinking and innovation through hands‑on assignments and projects.
Utilize digital tools and platforms for simulations and instruction.
Provide constructive feedback to guide student progress and career readiness.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and performance.
Stay current with industry trends to ensure course content is relevant and up-to-date.
Collaborate with program staff to ensure course alignment and quality.
Adapt instruction for diverse learning needs and adult learning styles.
Design and deliver business course content relevant to today’s market.
Apply real-world case studies and practical tools in instruction.
Create curriculum for both foundational and advanced learners.
Evaluate student assignments, projects, and assessments.
Facilitate discussions on current trends in business and marketing.
Maintain class records and track student progress.
Support development of entrepreneurial mindsets among learners.
Incorporate digital business tools and simulations in teaching.
Collaborate with program coordinators on course alignment.
Participate in curriculum review and instructional planning.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in a business-related field (e.g., Business Administration, Marketing, Finance); OR
Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of relevant experience; OR
Five (5) years of experience as a business owner or industry expert.
Strong instructional and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of business administration, entrepreneurship, and financial principles.
Ability to relate academic content to real-world applications.
Familiarity with instructional design and business education methods.
Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Experience with business technology tools (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks, CRMs).
Ability to assess student performance using practical business tasks.
Understanding of adult education and workforce development needs.
Creativity in curriculum development and classroom engagement.
Organizational skills and attention to instructional planning.
Ability to mentor students with entrepreneurial goals.
Successful completion of background screening and reference check process.
