KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a CPA / Accounting Manager with a company serving commercial and industrial construction projectsacross the West Coast. This position is fully onsite in Chino, CA and requires a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure compliance with all accounting standards and industry regulations.
This is a contract position to start for 2 months and has a strong likelihood of going permanent.
Position Summary
The CPA / Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day accounting operations, managing month-end and year-end close processes, leading internal and external audits, ensuring job costing accuracy, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. This role will work closely with leadership, project managers, and external stakeholders to maintain financial health and support strategic goals. Key Responsibilities
Manage all general ledger, AP / AR, payroll, and job costing activities. Oversee month-end and year-end close processes; prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations. Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant tax codes; coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers. Monitor and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures. Oversee and mentor accounting staff (3) Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate job cost tracking, billing, and revenue recognition. Support leadership with forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow analysis. Manage WIP schedules, bonding requirements, and construction-related reporting. Maintain compliance with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and construction finance regulations. Qualifications
CPA license preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA a plus. 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction, engineering, or manufacturing industry. Strong understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, and construction financials. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, or similar). Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP or construction-specific systems is a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills. Compensation depends on experience but is typically 50-55 / hr.
