Your Job As a key member of the site leadership team, the EHS Manager will be responsible for driving environmental excellence and regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. This role has direct ownership of the site's environmental performance and permitting and will supervise a safety professional to ensure alignment with company and regulatory standards.
What you Will do in Your Role
Provide transformational leadership, direction, and influence to achieve the site’s EHS vision and objectives.
Lead the development and implementation of environmental strategies that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., Title V, SPCC, CERCLA/EPCRA, TSCA, air, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste).
Own and manage all environmental permits, including applications, renewals, and modifications, in collaboration with internal SMEs and legal teams.
Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and lead responses to inspections, audits, and enforcement actions.
Monitor performance indicators, identify trends, and recommend improvements to processes and equipment.
Prepare and submit accurate and timely environmental compliance reports to regulatory agencies.
Stay current on emerging environmental regulations and assess their impact on site operations.
Supervise and mentor the site Safety Professional, ensuring effective execution of safety programs and initiatives.
Develop and align EHS programs and strategies with business objectives, balancing environmental (70%) and safety (30%) priorities.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and proactive risk management across all levels of the organization.
Implement effective change management and training systems to support EHS initiatives.
Ensure implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to support compliance with environmental regulations and corporate sustainability goals.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in environmental compliance within a manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
Experience supervising or mentoring EHS professionals.
What Will Put You Ahead
Experience with Title V air permitting and compliance.
Experience managing chemical programs and hazardous waste (e.g., large quantity generator activities).
Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHMM, or similar.
Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable plans.
