Senior Accountant – Manufacturing – Virginia Beach – Pay to $85K A fast-growing and diversified manufacturing company is seeking a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT to join its corporate accounting team in Virginia Beach. The senior accountant will focus on complex general ledger accounting through month-end close, fixed assets, indirect taxes, and provide reconciliations for and assistance with federal tax preparation. Responsibilities
General ledger accounting including complex reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close Reconcile cash receipts and bank accounts Manage and reconcile fixed assets Reconcile sales and use taxes and prepare returns for the US and Canada Process and review credit and debit memos Financial reporting and analysis Assist with annual income tax preparation Assist with audit preparation Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s degree and/or CPA preferred 3+ years of experience focused on complex general ledger accounting through month-end close Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, multitasking, and team-centered environment Exceptional computer skills including advanced Excel and experience with ERPs Proven ability to perform reconciliations of large data sets Excellent communication skills, ability to meet multiple deadlines, with strong sense of urgency and commitment to accuracy Keen attention to detail, developed problem-solving skills, and ability to switch gears quickly Long-term player, with proven longevity in previous roles Knowledge of tax filings and compliance preferred Manufacturing industry experience is a plus but not required Apply
