Position Summary The Branch Manager will lead the Wichita branch operations, drive sales growth, and ensure exceptional customer service across industrial segments. This role combines sales leadership, strategic relationship management, and operational oversight, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment. You will be the local leader and key decision maker in most areas, supported by company resources in various capacities. The territory extends over much of Kansas. Occasional overnight travel should be expected.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Wichita branch team (outside sales, inside sales, counter, warehouse) to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
Drive profitable sales growth across existing accounts and new customer development.
Manage day‑to‑day operations, including inventory, logistics, vendor relationships, and order fulfillment.
Collaborate with TCAS leadership and vendor partners (including Schneider Electric, Phoenix Contact, Hoffman, SICK, and other industrial manufacturers) to align local initiatives with performance goals.
Oversee branch P&L performance, budgeting, and expense control.
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Represent Thorp Controls with professionalism, technical credibility, and a service‑first mindset.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in electrical distribution, industrial automation, or a related field.
Proven leadership experience managing teams or branch operations.
Strong understanding of industrial electrical products (drives, controls, MCCs, enclosures, etc.).
Ability to lead and drive culture within a sales‑focused environment.
Business acumen with the ability to manage budgets, margins, and branch profitability.
Excellent communication, organization, and relationship‑building skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the territory.
Preferred Attributes
Experience with Schneider Electric, Phoenix Contact, Hoffman, or similar industrial product lines.
Technical background in electrical, automation, or control systems.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and act quickly.
