Associate Professor and Program Director, Undergraduate Studies
The University of Memphis is seeking an Associate Professor and Program Director, Undergraduate Studies in the School of Public Health. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the undergraduate program, including student advising, curriculum development, and program assessment. They will work with the enrollment management team to recruit and retain excellent students with attention to achieving the goal of a diverse student body. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with faculty to develop and enhance the undergraduate curriculum, ensuring it reflects current trends, best practices, and emerging needs in the field of public health. Providing guidance and support to undergraduate students, including academic advising, career development, and placements. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including alumni, industry professionals, and community partners, to foster experiential learning opportunities and job placements. Conducting cutting-edge epidemiological research, contributing significantly to the field, and securing extramural funding to support their research program. Providing innovative and engaging instruction at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Supervising and mentoring graduate students on their theses and dissertations. Minimum qualifications include a Doctoral degree in Epidemiology or a related field, and a background in teaching and curriculum development in the field of public health. The ideal candidate will have a record of peer-reviewed publications and a strong record of extramural research funding, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
