Responsibilities
- Provide a clean and safe working environment for all Hamilton employees, visiting customers, and guests.
- Perform routine janitorial cleaning duties in offices, manufacturing, warehouse, restrooms, entrance and exit areas, and outside lawn, such as picking up trash, washing floors, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Assist the Maintenance Department with facility projects, e.g., painting, facility moves.
- Control janitorial supplies, reorder as required, maintain organization of the janitorial supply area, and communicate with supervision to order supplies.
- Initiate and complete projects such as floor stripping and re‑waxing, carpet cleaning, window washing, and tunnel cleaning.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of general cleaning operations, equipment, chemicals, and safe application per product labeling and MSDS documentation.
- Basic knowledge of facility maintenance (painting, plumbing, lighting, etc.).
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of safe work practices to prevent trip hazards, proper ladder use, and proper warning of wet or waxed floors.
- Aptitude and desire to continually improve janitorial tasks to reduce costs while maintaining cleanliness.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, stoop, stand, climb, pull, and reach.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Previous janitorial experience required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
