Position Summary

Hiring & Staffing Manager – Lead all facets of recruiting and managing part‑time staff and volunteers for Volo sports leagues and events. This role is hands‑on, strategic, and oriented to building a vibrant staff community.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment effort for part‑time hosts & refs
• Recruit, hire, onboard, schedule, train and evaluate excellent part‑time talent to run our leagues and events
• Manage the development and presentation of staff and volunteer training
• Lead initiatives for engagement and support—pre‑season training, mid‑season check‑ins, and end‑of‑season celebrations
• Oversee staff & volunteer feedback review & analysis
• Grow the staff & volunteer community and culture through special perks and events
• Create recruitment pipeline for part‑time staff
• Schedule league & event staff—including hosts and refs for adult and kids programs
• Update scheduling software to reflect completion of shifts & support payroll as needed
• Support the local payroll process as neededTrack & evaluate performance of part‑time staff

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3‑5 years of professional experience in recruiting or event management
• Ability to work nights and weekends
• Can marshal resources effectively and comfortably
• Experience in sport or event management and/or business development capacity
• Can navigate a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Dynamic personality interested in working in, and contributing to, a fun and active sporting environment
