Wycliff Douglas Provisions (WDP) was opened with a focus on delivering exceptionally fresh and carefully prepared ready‑to‑eat and ready‑to‑cook meats to restaurants, retail stores and private label clients. It is a USDA manufacturer located in Mesquite, TX.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute both short- and long‑term procurement strategies that support business objectives, optimize spending and drive cost savings.

Direct and participate in procurement and logistics activities to ensure operational efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials and products.

Source, quote, negotiate, purchase and execute contracts for the supply chain, including USDA manufacturing, FDA manufacturing, international and domestic restaurants.

Complete supplier program negotiations that support category plans and objectives, such as rebate programs, volume programs, pricing strategies and promotional items.

Identify, develop and execute strategic supply sources for products, packaging and/or commodities.

Focus on delivering improved cost of goods by staying ahead of commodity trends.

Conduct inventory and place purchase orders to ensure all products are available for production.

Monitor inventory item ingredient prices, make recommendations and corrections as necessary.

Manage compliance program, including audits, communication and follow‑ups with internal teams to ensure issues are resolved.

Build, manage and maintain healthy relationships with suppliers.

Research all aspects of each deal, including alternate products, bundling opportunities, new suppliers and any information needed to gain negotiating leverage and create the best deal possible.

Develop, implement and maintain supplier improvement plans in quality, delivery, and cost initiatives.

Work directly with suppliers to resolve any issues or concerns that may arise during the contract period.

Research areas affecting profitability and take actions to ensure a profitable business.
