Job Description Research Director, Texas
leads the strategic research function for office and industrial property services across major Texas cities. Based in Dallas or Houston, you will deliver high‑impact market intelligence, guide data‑driven decision‑making, and support business development, client advisory, and investment strategy.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
– develop and execute a research strategy aligned with business goals and market opportunities in Texas; lead a team of analysts and managers; serve as senior advisor to executive leadership and clients.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
– oversee quarterly market reports, forecasts, and custom research deliverables; monitor and interpret leasing, investment, development, and tenant behavior across office and industrial sectors.
Client & Business Development Support
– provide tailored research and insights for pitches, proposals, and strategic client engagements; collaborate with marketing and business development teams.
Data Strategy & Innovation
– partner with IT on advanced analytics integrations (Power BI, GIS, NavigatorCRE); manage third‑party data provider relationships; champion data governance and continuous improvement.
Cross‑Market Collaboration
– coordinate with national and regional research leaders; support special projects such as redevelopment, SRC initiatives, and policy‑related research.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Economics, Urban Planning, Business, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
7+ years of experience in commercial real estate research; expertise in office and industrial sectors.
Leadership experience and strong command of data platforms and visualization tools (CoStar, Power BI, NavigatorCRE).
Exceptional communication and presentation skills; proven ability to lead teams and manage complex, multi‑market research initiatives.
Strategic thinker passionate about market trends and innovation; collaborative leader comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and external clients.
Track record of building and maintaining strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders, team members and clients.
Travel to Texas markets quarterly.
