POSITION SUMMARY As the Shop Manager and Workflow Planner for Meyers Manx vehicles, you will direct the day-to-day operations of a specialized shop dedicated to the restoration/building, maintenance, and repair of Meyers Manx buggies. This position demands deep expertise in vintage automotive systems, thoughtful coordination of restoration projects, and an unwavering commitment to preserving automotive history. The ideal candidate combines leadership and organization with a passion for vehicles, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of craftsmanship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Shop Oversight: Manage all aspects of the Meyers Manx shop, including scheduling restoration builds, allocating resources and personnel, and maintaining compliance with safety protocols.

Workflow Coordination: Work with management to load build schedules with projects and manage shop loading.

Staff Leadership: Supervise, train, and inspire a team of installers and restoration specialists, assigning tasks based on expertise and skill level in Meyers Manx build procedures and vintage craftsmanship.

Quality Control: Inspect completed restorations and repairs, ensuring adherence not just to industry standards but to the unique requirements of vintage Meyers Manx vehicles making sure their end quality is on brand.

Inventory and Sourcing: Work with the parts and sourcing manager to ensure all parts for queued builds have been ordered and are staged before vehicle specific production commences.

Documentation & Reporting: Monitor installers for efficiency of work time and build hours per car. Check time sheets, notate problems and pain points with cars and equipment and elevate them to management.

Safety & Preservation Compliance: Enforce safety regulations while protecting the integrity and originality of Meyers Manx vehicles and the restoration environment.

Work with, manage, and update Meyers Manx Excel sheets and Gantt charts regularly to ensure project timelines and data are accurate and current, vehicles hit their milestones and delivery targets.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, History, or a related field preferred, with specialization or extensive experience in Meyers Manx vehicles.

At least 3 years of experience managing a shop focused on aftermarket restorations, high end builds, or vintage vehicle maintenance.

Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.

Exceptional communication abilities and leadership traits with the ability to foster a team environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook and Excel.

Deep knowledge of automotive systems, fabrication, lines and fittings, wiring, correct repair techniques, fuel and mechanical systems.

Dedication to safety, preservation standards, and the ethos of Meyers Manx culture.

Full-time position, typically on weekdays, with flexibility for weekend or event-based work as needed.

Work is performed in a restoration shop environment with exposure to Meyers Manx vehicles, specialty tools, and vintage automotive materials.

Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting rare or heavy parts (up to 50 lbs), and operating restoration equipment.
