Location Office of Trade, Trade Regulatory Audit (TRA) – Ashburn, VA; Laredo, TX; Miami, FL; Newark, NJ; San Francisco, CA; Washington, DC.
Summary As a Digital Analysis Auditor (DAA), you will plan audit programs, advise on audit activities, and conduct computer‑related investigative work throughout the audit lifecycle. The role requires advanced concepts in operations research, statistics, and scientific methods to solve complex challenges and develop automated audit tools.
Duties • Provide comprehensive audit program planning and advisory services. • Conduct computer‑related audit investigative activities across the audit lifecycle. • Perform analysis for a geographically dispersed audit team on multinational corporations. • Collaborate with the Office of Information and Technology (OIT) and TRA’s Trade Transformation Directorate and Operations Directorate programmers to develop, enhance, and monitor management TRA information systems. • Develop, modify, and utilize automated audit testing tools and statistical sampling schemes.
Requirements • U.S. Citizen. Males born after 12/31/1959 must register with Selective Service. • Minimum three years residency in the United States. • Must pass background investigation and meet CBP’s Drug‑Free Workplace Plan. • Eligibility for Top Secret clearance may be required. • Ability to operate a Government‑Owned Vehicle; valid, non‑restricted driver’s license required. • Completion of paid training (up to 4 weeks) with a passing score of 70% or higher is mandatory.
Qualifications Basic Requirement: Provide supporting documentation to show you meet one of the following:
• A four‑year bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, or a related field with 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 hours in business law).
• A combination of education and experience – at least four years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides professional accounting knowledge.
• A Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor credential, or completion of the requirements for a degree that includes substantial accounting coursework and demonstrates successful performance at a full‑performance level.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade level below is required:
• GS‑12 or GS‑13 standard experience performing audit techniques, applying laws and regulations, research, reporting, and briefing.
