Position: Digital Analysis Auditor (DAA) at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade, Trade Regulatory Audit (TRA). Pay range: $105,383 – $137,000 per year plus locality pay. Locations: Ashburn, VA; Laredo, TX; Miami, FL; Newark, NJ; San Francisco, CA; Washington, DC.

Overview The Digital Analysis Auditor provides comprehensive audit program planning, advisory services, and conducts computer‑related audit investigative activities throughout the audit lifecycle. The role collaborates with the Office of Information and Technology (OIT) and the TRA Transform Directorate to develop, enhance, and monitor sophisticated management TRA information systems.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute audit programs, advising on audit methodology for automated records and electronic data processing (EDP) systems.

Collaborate with a geographically dispersed team of auditors, delivering analysis on automated record‑keeping systems during audits of major multinational corporations.

Develop, modify, and utilize automated audit testing tools, statistical sampling schemes, and hardware/software applications to exploit automated EDP systems.

Apply advanced concepts of operations research, statistics, and scientific methods to identify and solve complex audit challenges.

Qualifications Basic Requirement:

Provide documentation that shows you meet the basic requirement listed below.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, or a related field with at least 24 semester hours in accounting; or a combination of education and at least 4 years of accounting experience with 24 semester hours in accounting or an equivalent certification (CPA, CIA).

Experience:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑13 level, performing audit duties such as developing relationships, managing projects, conducting audits using GAGAS, researching complex information, and preparing written audit reports.

Citizenship & Residency:

U.S. citizen; primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years; must pass a background investigation.

Other:

Must be registered with Selective Service (males born after 12/31/1959); may be required to obtain a Top Secret clearance; must possess a valid, non‑restricted driver license.

Additional Information

Motor Vehicle Operation:

Must operate a government‑owned vehicle.

Security Clearance:

Top Secret clearance may be required.

Training:

Up to four weeks of paid training; must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher.

Continuing Professional Education:

Must meet CPE requirements set by the GAO for government auditing standards.
