Director of Finance & Accounting Location: Mobile, AL (In‑office)

ARMS, a private equity‑backed SaaS company, is hiring its first finance leader to build the finance function from the ground up and support rapid growth.

About the Role As Director, you’ll establish accounting operations, lead the transition from cash to accrual‑based reporting, and design scalable processes and controls. Over time, you will grow into a strategic role supporting M&A integration, investor reporting, and growth initiatives.

What You’ll Do Accounting & Controllership

Own all core accounting operations – GL, AR/AP, payroll, and compliance.

Lead the transition to accrual‑based reporting by layering monthly accrual processes on top of cash operations to ensure GAAP compliance.

Deliver timely, accurate financials with strong internal controls.

Manage annual audits and tax filings with external partners.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Build scalable financial processes, controls, and systems.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for leadership and investors.

Provide actionable insights on cash flow, profitability, and performance metrics.

Strategic Finance & Growth

Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning.

Support post‑acquisition integration, financial consolidation, and due diligence for future M&A.

Leadership & Collaboration

Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team.

Build and mentor a high‑performing finance and accounting team as the company scales.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).

8+ years in accounting/finance – ideally in SaaS or technology‑driven businesses.

Strong foundation in controllership, financial reporting, and audits.

Experience with SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606) and order‑to‑cash systems.

Proven ability to design and implement financial processes and systems from scratch.

Experience in PE‑backed or M&A‑driven environments strongly preferred.

Clear communicator with the ability to translate numbers into business insight.

Hands‑on operator who’s eager to grow into a broader leadership role.
