Sompo has a unique opportunity for an AVP, Claim Operations Alignment in our North America Claim Operations team.
Location:
Purchase, NY office.
What you’ll be doing
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for identifying and consolidating work processes across front and back-office teams.
Working closely with department heads and subject matter experts, conduct thorough assessments of existing front and back‑office workflows to identify opportunities for consolidation, streamlining, and standardization.
Foster strong collaboration and regular communication between front and back‑office teams to ensure seamless transition and alignment of work processes.
Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions, manage resistance, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the success of work consolidation efforts in terms of efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies throughout the consolidation process.
What you’ll bring
Minimum 7 years’ experience in claims operations, process improvement, outsourcing or similar roles within the P&C insurance industry.
Strong understanding of commercial insurance claims operations, processes, and industry best practices.
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, change management, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Well‑versed in workflow/data flow reengineering to optimize processes and drive operational efficiencies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and build consensus across diverse teams.
Strong project management skills to oversee complex initiatives from conceptualization to implementation.
Strong problem solving and decision‑making abilities; strong work ethic & energetic.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment is essential; sense of urgency required.
Ability to establish priorities, anticipate problems, know and communicate the status of assignments to involved parties.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Pursuit of ongoing educational designations related to the Insurance Industry preferred.
Salary Range:
$115,000 – $185,000. Actual compensation will depend on living cost, qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
