Job Summary We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Understand the design and intent of mechanical equipment and systems (Chiller, Boiler, Custom AHUs, Primary/Secondary pumping, Variable Flow Chilled Water Plants, Clean Room Applications, Demand Response, and Energy solutions).

Create and manage design submittals and RFI’s.

Provide quality control of control design and technical aspects of assigned projects.

Develop department standards.

Lead designers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure required design & installation information is provided correctly and on time.

Review subcontractor & engineering performance and provide feedback to the Project Manager.

Coordinate purchase of necessary supplies, equipment, and services and maintain proper inventory control.

Authority to review and approve design submittals to ensure compliance.

Analyze systems and develop scope of work for controls implementation.

Monitor, identify, and diagnose potential problems using computer workstations and on-site observations.

Interface with customers, engineers, and contractors as needed.

Lead customer training on assigned projects as needed.

Lead technical and programming efforts on large enterprise multi-site accounts as needed.

Maintain relationships with customers on assigned accounts.

Ensure successful warranty turnover on assigned projects.

Partner with customers as a trusted technical advisor.

Function as technical and programming lead on assigned projects and accounts.

Partner with the project team and delegate tasks to ensure successful project execution.

Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance to field staff and customers.

Partner with the design and graphical team and recommend improvements to customer deliverables and process efficiencies.

Able to locate defective or non-operational components in new and existing systems using test equipment and programming expertise.

Job Specifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.

7+ years of field experience and 5 years of direct automation experience (BAS) with control systems and programming required.

Knowledge of DDC Control Theory, BACnet, LON, and Modbus.

Control systems product line knowledge with ALC, Alerton, Delta, Distech, Honeywell, JCI, Loytec, Niagara, or Trane a plus.

Strong integration knowledge of LON, BACnet, Modbus, and proprietary systems a plus.

Ability to interface with customers at a supervisory and management level.

Engineering skills including electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, or computer programming.

Knowledge of BAS analytics and/or fault detection & diagnostics (FDD) software platforms a plus.

Microsoft Visio a plus.

CEM certification or equivalent a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good computer skills and understanding of controls networking.

A valid driver’s license.

Compensation Range $130,000 – $150,000 per year
