Job Title Application Engineer III
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Executes project start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems on assigned projects.
Participates in the layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT Department personnel.
Runs complex reports to analyze system operation, works with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work.
Develop written sequence of operation based on mechanical drawings.
Understand the design and intent of mechanical equipment and systems such as chiller, boiler, custom AHU’s, primary/secondary pumping, variable flow chilled water plants, clean room applications, demand response, and energy solutions.
Analyze systems and develop scope of work for controls implementation, create control algorithms, download source code to controllers and manage databases.
Give technical presentations on building automation, controls, and emerging technology and experience in multiple systems integration.
Participates in final inspection and testing, assures customer acceptance, and conducts training for end user customers on system operations.
Job Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
Strong networking background required.
8+ years of direct automation experience with control system architecture design and programming required.
6+ years of experience with Niagara AX/N4, Distech, Delta, or similar systems.
Knowledge of Direct Digital Controls, BACnet, MODbus, Tridium, Schneider, and Delta required.
Must have working knowledge of HVAC systems – unitary systems to central plants.
Engineering skills required include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance desired.
