Sr. Field Tech – Power Systems Tech I, II, III, or IV Join RESA Power as a senior field technician responsible for service, testing, and maintenance of high voltage power transmission and distribution equipment.

Position Summary Field technicians perform service, testing, and maintenance of power transmission and distribution equipment, ensuring reliability and compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties

Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and start up low, medium, or high voltage systems up to 500 kV.

Test and maintain low, medium, and high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.

Perform maintenance, testing, and repair of transformers (45 kVA–130 MVA) and related equipment.

Recondition and repair circuit breakers—low voltage 480 V, medium voltage up to 15 kV.

Operate high‑voltage test equipment, including Doble Power Factor sets.

Start‑up, troubleshoot, and repair controls and transfer schemes.

Respond to customer emergencies and on‑call duty.

Maintain compliance with all regulatory laws.

Required Experience and Qualifications – Power Systems Tech I

High School diploma/GED and minimum 1 year of related experience.

Knowledge of NETA, NEC, OSHA, NFPA.

Experience with switchgear up to 500 kV (preferred).

Strong electrical fundamentals and problem‑solving aptitude.

Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Valid driver’s license (company vehicle required).

Required Experience and Qualifications – Power Systems Tech II

High School diploma/GED and minimum 2 years of related experience.

NETA Level II Certification.

Knowledge of NETA, NEC, OSHA, NFPA.

In‑field safety knowledge (lockout/tagout, arc‑flash, shock hazard).

Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Valid driver’s license (company vehicle required).

Required Experience and Qualifications – Power Systems Tech III

High School diploma/GED and minimum 5 years of related experience.

NETA Level III Certification.

Ability to mentor lower‑level technicians.

Knowledge of NETA, NEC, OSHA, NFPA.

Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Valid driver’s license (company vehicle required).

Required Experience and Qualifications – Power Systems Tech IV

Associate degree or equivalent and minimum 10 years of experience.

NETA Level IV Certification.

Leadership of large projects and crews; complex investigative and testing skills.

Knowledge of NETA, NEC, OSHA, NFPA.

Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Valid driver’s license (company vehicle required).

Required Experience and Qualifications – Sr. Field Tech

High School diploma/GED or equivalent and minimum 5 years of experience.

Knowledge of NEC, NETA, OSHA, IEEE, NFPA.

Experience with 230 kV and higher equipment.

Strong record of on‑site job reporting and budget management.

Additional Information

Job: Full‑time

Location: Seattle, WA

Travel: 25 – 50 %

Compensation: $25 – 65 per hour (for Tech I to IV). Overtime eligible. Daily meal and incidentals per diem for overnight work.
