Assurance Experienced Manager, Accounting Advisory & Outsourcing
BDO USA is seeking an experienced manager to lead finance and accounting outsourcing engagements, overseeing the full‑life cycle, client relationships, and staff performance.
Responsibilities Client Service Delivery
Manage the full‑life cycle of assigned engagements, providing technical expertise and general ledger reconciliation.
Perform accounting functions: recording transactions, creating invoices, payroll, adjusting entries, and producing financial statements.
Advise on technology packages, describe system functions, and recommend efficient usage.
Facilitate discovery meetings and map client finance structure.
Design integrated solutions, outline cost and benefit, and propose fixed‑fee pricing.
Support client through change management and ongoing solution reviews.
Collect and manage engagement data, maintain client relations, and coordinate billing.
Business Development
Learn business development strategies and maintain prospect data in CRM.
Evaluate clients for acceptance and draft statements of work.
Identify new opportunities and communicate to leadership.
Developing Others
Foster a culture of change and accountability.
Identify staff development needs, train on software, processes, and resources.
Act as a career advisor and evaluate performance.
Participate in recruiting and onboarding.
Project Management
Create work plans with phases, tasks, estimates, milestones, and progress reviews.
Bill engagements timely and manage collections.
Scope new projects, estimate fees, and manage margins.
Ensure client satisfaction and quality of deliverables.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise day‑to‑day workload of Senior Associates and Associates.
Review work products and provide feedback.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience).
MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
Experience
7+ years of general accounting experience.
3+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
Experience with outsourced/delivery center operations preferred.
Consultative or business advisory experience preferred.
License / Certifications
CPA certification preferred.
Software Skills
Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO), Microsoft NAV, Bill.com, and BDODrive.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Prior experience with accounting research tools preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong analytical and research skills.
GAAP knowledge, financial statement presentation, and reporting.
Organizational and deadline‑driven execution.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Salary National Range: $120,000 - $145,000.
