Senior Systems Administrator – Quantico, VA
ECS is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join the Criminal Investigation Management System (CIMS) team at the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (USACID) in Quantico, VA. The role supports IT operations, development, testing, and application security for CIMS, ensuring a secure IT environment for Army law enforcement missions.
Responsibilities
Provide full system sustainment functions, including configuration management, patch deployment, account creation, log monitoring, and security compliance across all customer environments.
Coordinate closely with the Help Desk team to resolve escalated user access issues and support Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes to align with release schedules and security protocols.
Ensure customer environments remain secure, available, and properly configured to meet mission needs.
Manage VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.x, NETAPP On‑Tape storage (SAN/NAS, HA, Replication, Clustering, SnapMirror), Cohesity Data Protection 7.x, and Windows Server 2022 Datacenter environments.
Support Kubernetes 1.31 (Tanzu 4.x, Docker v.27) and monitor applications with Dynatrace and ScienceLogic SL1.
Apply cybersecurity practices, including patching, DISA STIGs, and POA&Ms.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline with 5+ years of system administration experience, or Associate’s degree with 7+ years of experience.
Active Top Secret Clearance.
Active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
Expertise in one of the following certifications (or ability to obtain):
Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator (MCSE)
Microsoft System Administrator (MCSA) or equivalent
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent
Desired Skills
Agile/SAFe experience.
Excellent communication skills.
