The Director of Information Technology is primarily responsible for comprehensive application support, ongoing system maintenance, and overall IT management. This role serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and external entities with which the company interfaces. The Director also oversees support personnel providing Level 1 end-user assistance for hardware, software, networking, and communication systems. Additionally, the role includes providing Level 2 and Level 3 support as needed. Support may be delivered both remotely and in person, depending on the location being served.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
IT Governance & Strategy
Provide overall IT governance for Children’s Network of Hillsborough and the system of care.
Evaluate new information systems products or services as directed; suggest changes to existing products or services to improve efficiency and support business operations.
Communicate regularly with executive management regarding information technology and facilities.
Research and make recommendations for computer systems to enhance the Lead Agency’s System of Care.
Manage the financial aspects of IT planning and development, including annual budget oversight for technology needs.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
Plan, implement, and monitor changes in infrastructure configurations.
Install new servers, configure hardware, and maintain system standards.
Keep security settings, virus definitions, and patches up to date.
Document software license keys, network credentials, and component passwords.
Perform daily backup operations and conduct test restores to prevent data corruption.
Monitor system performance and security; oversee local area network and statewide system security.
End-User Support & Service Desk
Oversee support personnel providing Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 end-user support for hardware, software, networking, and communication systems.
Directly participate in troubleshooting hardware and software issues across workstations, servers, networking devices, and specialized systems.
Monitor Service Desk tickets, prioritizing first-in, first-out based on urgency.
Enhance current technologies to improve client and staff services.
Implement policies and procedures for problem identification, documentation, and resolution.
Oversee provisioning of end-user services.
Team & Vendor Management
Manage IT staff, including hiring, training, guidance, and discipline.
Manage hardware and software vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and support.
Develop best practices and written documentation for all server and system maintenance activities.
Equipment & Inventory
Oversee purchase, setup, distribution, and maintenance of all computer hardware, software, and phone systems.
Ensure compliance with purchasing requirements and security policies.
Maintain inventory system for Lead Agency and contracted service providers; perform yearly reconciliation and timely updates to DCF.
Security
Act as Security Officer for statewide systems, coordinating access with designated state security officers.
Act as CBC Security Officer, managing access to Statewide Systems including FSFN (Florida).
Oversee security maintenance for computer hardware and software operated by Case Management Organizations, ensuring compliance with Lead Agency and state policies.
Facilities
Respond to safety and convenience needs of staff and work with vendors to deliver critical infrastructure components.
Coordinate facilities requirements to maintain a safe, secure, and comfortable work environment.
Travel & On-Site Requirements
This role requires the ability to drive to assigned locations as part of regular job duties.
On-site and in-office work is an essential requirement of the position.
Other Duties
Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and agency goals, as needed and appropriate to the position.
Working Hours CNHC believes in promoting work-life balance for all employees. This is an in-office position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., averaging forty (40) hours per week. Working hours may vary based on business needs. The position may also require after-hours, weekend, and holiday work depending on the status of critical facility or technology issues.
Travel Travel between all agency locations is required. As well as travel in and outside of Hillsborough County.
Training All employees are required to complete fifteen (15) hours of training annually, which may be completed online or in a classroom setting. Employees who hold a credential or license relevant to their position must ensure that all training and continuing education requirements are met to maintain their credential or licensure.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position oversees the Information Technology department which is comprised of an IT Manager and IT Support Specialists.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred; MBA or MIS degree is highly desirable, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience.
Professional certifications in Information Technology and Information Systems—such as MCSE, A+, Network+, MCSA, Security+—are beneficial and preferred.
Previous supervisory experience of five years preferred

Valid driver’s license required, with proof of insurance
