Please follow the link for more information regarding the 2025 Personal Leave program. http://hrmanual.calhr.ca.gov/Home/ManualItem/1/2113 The Software Application Developer works independently as a technical specialist responsible for designing, programming, configuring, testing, and supporting complex IT solutions for FTB’s compliance systems. These systems use various technology stacks, including Java Framework, Jakarta EE, interfaces, etc. The developer provides consulting services to application and infrastructure areas to leverage and interface with the compliance systems efficiently and effectively. Works independently and with other technical staff to troubleshoot complex software problems and assist with resolution and preventative measures. They maintain collaborative relationships with teammates, management, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring work aligns with the department’s mission to improve system efficiency. Effective communication and accurate documentation are essential parts of this role.

Experience implementing data structures, working in relational databases and writing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries (SQL Server, T-SQL, ANDI, etc.)
Experience using integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse and/or IntelliJ IDEA to build applications
Experience debugging and troubleshooting production incidents using Java Debugger, Eclipse, and/or IntelliJ IDEA
Experience and understanding using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience building and deploying through CI/CD technologies (Openshift, Azure release pipelines, etc.)
Experience working using CQ, CC, RTC, TFS or other Ticketing/Code Management Systems
