Sr. Manager, Signal Engineering role at Wabtec Corporation. Who will you be working with?
As a member of the Signaling & Systems Team under Digital Intelligence, you will lead a team of design resources for Class I Railroads, Short Lines, Commuter Lines and Light Rail domestically and globally. How will you make a difference?
The Sr. Manager of Engineering directs, plans and schedules projects with the engineering staff: Project Managers, Senior Engineers, Engineers, Designers and CADD Technicians. The Manager of Engineering reports directly to the Director of Engineering. Qualifications
Strong knowledge of wayside railroad or transit system signal engineering principles and concepts. Strong knowledge of the application and design of wayside and crossing systems. Strong MS Office computer skills and capabilities. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar degree or six years of industry engineering experience. Three years of supervisory experience. Typical Day
Oversees engineering department functions, manages employees and projects. Develops project schedules and deadlines, determines project quotes and budget requirements. Prepares reports, approves timesheets and expenses, reviews and approves invoices. Monitors deadlines and progress of all projects; assigns tasks to maximize capacity utilization and to ensure projects stay on track. Coordinates meetings and communicates with internal departments and external customers. Provides support to employees to perform their assigned tasks. Guides direct reports in creating their individual goals; monitors performance; ensures goals align with business strategy. Assigns tasks and implements alternative work methods to assist in process improvement. Performs other tasks as assigned by the AVP of Engineering/Omaha. Physical Demands
Sitting at a desk for long hours. Possible travel. Location & Compensation
This role is eligible for a performance bonus. Relocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met. The salary range is $102,500.00–$146,000.00. Preferred work locations: Denver CO, Omaha NE, Woodbury MN. Benefits
