Responsibilities

Direct, plan and schedule projects with engineering staff (Project Managers, Senior Engineers, Engineers, Designers, and CADD Technicians).

Oversee engineering department functions; manage employees and projects.

Develop project schedules and deadlines, determine project quotes and budget requirements.

Prepare reports, approve timesheets and expenses, review and approve invoices.

Monitor deadlines and progress of all projects; assign tasks to maximize capacity utilization and ensure projects stay on track.

Coordinate meetings and communicate with internal departments and external customers.

Provide support to employees to perform their assigned tasks.

Guide direct reports in setting individual goals, monitor performance, and ensure alignment with company strategy.

Assign tasks and implement alternative work methods to assist in process improvement.

Perform other tasks as assigned by the AVP of Engineering/Omaha.

Qualifications

Must have :

Strong knowledge of wayside railroad or transit system signal engineering principles and concepts.

Strong knowledge of the application and design of wayside and crossing systems.

Strong MS Office computer skills and capabilities.

Preferred :

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar degree or six years of industry engineering experience.

Three years of supervisory experience.

Physical Demands

Sitting at a desk for long hours.

Possible travel.

Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $102,500.00–$146,000.00.

Eligible for a performance bonus.

Relocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.
