Data Architecture & Engineering - Senior Manager - Financial Services - Consulting - NYC, Charlotte EY is the only professional services firm with a dedicated Financial Services Operations (FSO) business unit. The FSO teams are at the forefront of reshaping the industry and are now looking for a Senior Manager to lead data and analytics engagements across financial services.

Location New York City, Charlotte, Dallas

Overview Data has yet to be utilized to its fullest potential. Financial institutions are building smarter and more efficient ways to operate their business through new data opportunities. As a trusted advisor, EY clients rely on us to help them ingest, interpret, and manage their data. This role focuses on Data Architecture and Engineering (DAE), Data Products Management (DPM), Data Governance and Controls (DGC), and Data Analytics & Insights (DAI).

Key Responsibilities

Lead a diverse team of professionals across geographic regions to deliver data and analytics services.

Design and implement complex data architecture solutions to solve business challenges in financial services.

Collaborate with clients to define technical and business approaches, influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Build and nurture relationships with C‑level executives and technical partners to drive adoption of data-driven insights.

Produce thought leadership through white papers, proof of concepts, and industry best‑practice presentations.

Maintain an entrepreneurial mindset to develop your own career path within EY.

Propose and implement new technologies that enhance existing business processes.

Qualifications

Undergraduate or master’s degree in a quantitative field (engineering, computer science, economics, finance, statistics, or analytics).

Minimum 9 years of experience in banking, capital markets, insurance, or asset management with at least 3 years of team‑leadership experience.

Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, to advocate technical solutions to all audiences.

Demonstrated ability to deliver results under extreme time constraints and critical deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Experience with client‑facing activities such as requirements gathering, facilitation, and presentation creation.

Project management and process development expertise in client‑serving roles.

Excellent leadership and teamwork capabilities.

Strong organization and time‑management skills.

Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time; valid passport required.

Ability to quickly adopt new knowledge and adapt to change with a natural curiosity.

DAE Specific

Experience designing and architecting large data platforms, data warehouses, lakes, and streaming applications.

Hands‑on knowledge of data ingestion, integration, transformation, and storage technologies.

Deep understanding of traditional data architecture (data warehousing, MDM, ODS) and next‑gen platforms (data lakes, data mesh).

Proficiency in cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).

Experience with big‑data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark) and data‑integration tools (Informatica, Talend).

Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Java, Scala) and relational & NoSQL databases.

Familiarity with data‑pipeline orchestration (Airflow) and DevOps tools (GitHub, Kubernetes, Terraform).

Experience with data‑modeling techniques (Star, Snowflake, data vault).

Ideally You’ll Also Have

Master’s degree in business administration or science (MBA/MS).

Prior consulting experience.

Experience monitoring performance and reporting on large initiatives.

Strong presentation skills with ability to lead workshops for executives.

Track record of quantifying business results from data initiatives.
