What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Partner with Product and Design teams to scope, design, and deliver impactful new features in the Education product line
Architect, refine, and scale backend systems, introducing new technologies and patterns for improved architecture
Own and evolve the employer’s eCommerce systems and integrations to facilitate curriculum access for teachers and students
Collaborate across functions to ensure technology decisions align with business goals and customer needs
Lead by example with high‑quality code and thoughtful reviews, contributing to the technical direction for the team
What is Required (Qualifications)
Minimum 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in fast‑paced early‑ or mid‑stage startups
Proven experience delivering large‑scale backend systems that enhance customer‑facing experiences
Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby on Rails, Python, or Go
Experience with billing systems like Stripe or similar, including building and maintaining integrations
Demonstrated ability to mentor other engineers and establish best practices
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with microservices/service‑oriented architectures and full‑stack development using React.js
Background in designing and implementing distributed systems for scalability and reliability
