What you will be doing:

Partner with Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Suppliers to build quality into products from concept through launch.

Support Technical Reviews (TRs), Manufacturing Builds, and Pilot Builds.

Define and validate Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) characteristics.

Support quality planning activities.

Support development DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and inspection standards.

Ensure measurement systems are robust and capable.

Lead PPAP submissions and validate supplier process capability.

Build and maintain a clear framework of expectations for internal teams and suppliers from MB through Pilot and into mass production.

Define deliverables for each build stage (inspection plans, capability studies, packaging validation, control plans, etc.).

Ensure roles and responsibilities between Hydro Flask, suppliers, and the Supplier Quality team are clearly documented.

Identify gaps in the current AQME system and implement improvements that make requirements more consistent, efficient, and enforceable.

Standardize templates, checklists, and tools to reduce variability in how builds are executed and reviewed.

Drive adoption and accountability for the updated systems across suppliers and Hydro Flask teams.

Support continuous improvement of existing products and manufacturing processes.

Use feedback from the Supplier Quality team to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.

Partner with suppliers to implement process enhancements that improve cost, quality, and throughput.

Support validation of additional toolsets.

Ensure new toolsets match existing tooling in dimensions, capability, and performance.

Support qualification of dual sourced production at new suppliers.

Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality to validate new suppliers and ensure alignment with Hydro Flask quality standards.

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting product/manufacturing defects and implementing corrective actions.

Exposure to supplier quality management, including second sourcing.

Familiarity with consumer product development for high-volume production, including MB, Pilot, and Mass Production phases.

Quality management systems.

Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and APQP/PPAP processes, including SPC, MSA, and process validation methods such as capability studies.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize work.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Demonstrated record of problem solving and implementing corrective action.

Demonstrated record of improving and/or implementing manufacturing processes to improve quality and cost.

Proven understanding of product lifecycle management from development through end of life.

Experience communicating with an international cross functional team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering.

3+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.

3+ years of experience in product quality management for high-volume consumer products.

Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and/or other manufacturing Continuous improvement strategies.

Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate evening calls with Suppliers.

Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with metals and plastics manufacturing.

International experience working with suppliers in China and Southeast Asia.

ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt, or other relevant certifications.
