is a small town located in the western part of Nevada, in the Carson Valley, about 15 miles south of Carson City and roughly 45 miles south of Reno. It serves as the county seat of Douglas County. The area is known for its picturesque landscapes, characterized by the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the west and the Carson Range to the east. Minden itself is a charming, historic town with a population of just under 4,000 people.
Pay Starting $60,000 - $70,000 DOE

What you will do As the Communications Specialist, you will support Rite of Passage’s mission by managing the organization’s digital presence and brand voice through strategic communications, social media, and multimedia content creation. This role develops and executes online branding strategies, produces newsletters and press releases, and creates engaging content across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Additionally, the position assists with event coordination, stakeholder engagement, public relations, and crisis communications, ensuring consistent, values-driven messaging across all channels.
To be considered you should
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Social Media Management, or a related field; or a high school diploma/GED with equivalent professional experience
Minimum of two years of experience in a fast-paced administrative or communications role
Proven experience creating and managing content for social media platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and major social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn); experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Preferred
Experience using CRM Platforms or databases preferred
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry
Schedule
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm 1 hour break
Location Minden, NV - In-Person/Hybrid
