Foundry House Films
About the Role
Foundry House Films is a New York–based emerging film studio and creative collective built by young filmmakers, actors, and producers. We’re focused on creating emotionally driven and professional independent cinema — We are upgrading the term “Student Film” to just “Film”. Our team operates like a real studio: development pipelines, script review, equipment discussions, and full production and marketing coordination — all designed to give members real-world experience and credit-worthy roles in film and media. By cutting out high budgets and connections, we put the work in only our hands - right where we want it.

You won’t be drafting contracts from scratch or giving legal advice, but you will
build, manage, and oversee the systems
that keep our creative work compliant and protected. Think of this as the bridge between film and law — where your attention to detail, research skills, and organization help independent filmmaking thrive responsibly.
This position will meet with other members of our core team to break down all that is discussed and decided within the legal division.

fair-use ,
public domain , and
licensing
considerations for music, footage, or branded content (being on top of
copyright ).
Help ensure our projects meet
festival submission legal requirements
(rights clearances, E&O considerations).
Advise on
risk management
for small-budget shoots, helping us stay protected without limiting creativity.

copyright ,
contracts , and
media law basics .
