Territory Sales Manager

Overview This position is responsible for developing and executing a targeted sales strategy to grow and protect market share with masonry customers, including contractors, masons, architects, and distributors. The role involves providing basic technical support related to masonry products, leading local sales and marketing initiatives, and monitoring the performance and quality of both company and competitor products in the territory. This position plays a key role in maintaining strong community relationships, promoting safe and sustainable operations, and upholding all company policies, safety standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities
Creates clear business strategy for each account (e.g., increase share, account penetration, protect existing base, etc.).
Develops revenue and product goals which are realistic and achievable.
Identifies and understand competitive landscape.
Develop plans to maximize the potential of accounts, uses good account management practices, implement District Strategies (i.e. price attainment).
Provide basic technical assistance and utilizes resources as needed to satisfy product and service issues with regards to materials produced or imported by the segment.
Gather territory intelligence on all customers, competitors, and potential customers and maintains a realistic succession pipeline of customers that can be sold if other volumes are lost.
Develops, maintains and strengthens customer relationships and provides training and education to customers.
Participate actively in trade associations as requested.
Develop an effective call planning system to ensure adequate coverage.
Manage working capital goals via meeting DSO and SG&A objectives.
Understands how to deliver value to customers.
Utilize systems to maintain accurate forecasts, pricing, expense, and future CRM reporting.
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum 3 years in sales or business development within:
Masonry products.
Building materials (e.g., cement, brick, concrete, stone).
Experience working with: Distributors, contractors, architects, builders.
Construction projects & State and local procurement (e.g., DOT projects).
Strong interpersonal skills for:
Representing the company at association meetings and industry events.
Building long-term customer relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and during face-to-face interaction.
Residence within the sales territory required.
Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend business unit and district meetings.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which may include a physical, background check, and drug screen.
