As a direct report to the Quality Manager, the key responsibilities include leading a cross‑functional team of employees from various RSA departments to ensure assigned projects are on schedule, meet customer required dates, and are compliant with customer/industry/internal specifications requirements. The position also requires managing activities for Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) processes such as Penetrant Inspection and Radiography Inspection with required support to meet the Industry and Customer requirements of Quality and Delivery of the products.
Responsibilities
Lead or support activities for on‑time delivery on orders through the manufacturing process including DMR resolution, process verification activity, and FAIR/Source/Conformity activity.
Support customer quality concerns and related activities as required, performing detailed root cause and corrective actions using methodologies such as Shainin, 8‑D, Ishikawa, Pareto, etc.
Lead or support the MRB (Material Review Board) process per RSA’s non‑conforming material process and participate in MRB related meetings or problem resolution activities.
Lead or support the RMA (Return Material Authorization) process per RSA’s process and help achieve required turnaround time on returned products.
Act as the main point of contact with RSA Level 3 to obtain required support for certified RSA employees to address any concerns or questions.
Host or participate in customers and third‑party audits as assigned, providing technical support and coaching to NDT team members.
Frequency of formal and informal customer interface to discuss project status, resolution of open actions related to program or quality engineering tasks.
Qualifications
BS degree (4‑year) in Engineering from an accredited college or university. Significant relevant experience may be considered for candidates without a degree.
6+ years of related experience in Aerospace or Automotive Industry in the field of Quality or Manufacturing Engineering with leadership on working with cross‑functional teams.
Experience in AS9100 or TS16949 standards and NADCAP knowledge of NDT processes in an Aerospace environment preferred.
Corrective Action/8‑D, Good communication skills, hands‑on ability to research and learn topics independently.
Experience and knowledge of material review board and non‑conformance procedures required. AS9102 first‑article inspection report and related processes expected.
Trained or certified to perform internal audits in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
Inspection experience with mechanical tools such as calipers, height gauge, and FARO arm required. Supervisory experience required.
Compensation The expected pay range for this position is $100,000–$120,000. Compensation can vary depending on qualifications, skills, experience, and geographic location. Variable incentives such as equity, commissions, or bonuses may be provided.
