Bridge Project Engineer – HNTB
Join a team dedicated to delivering transformative infrastructure solutions across the United States. As a Bridge Project Engineer, you will support the planning, design, and execution of bridge, retaining wall, and transportation structure projects within HNTB’s New Jersey office.
What We’re Looking For HNTB requires a collaborative, detail-oriented engineer with a strong background in bridge and transportation design. You will be responsible for producing design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.
What You’ll Do
Plan and distribute discipline-specific work, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget.
Assist in marketing and proposal generation activities.
Develop scope of work and level of effort for projects.
Oversee the accuracy of project team’s deliverables and mentor junior staff.
Coordinate technical aspects with client and teaming partners.
Collaborate with cross-discipline teams on multi-discipline projects.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or
PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.
What You’ll Bring
Leading bridge, retaining wall, and miscellaneous structure designs on transportation projects for multiple clients in New Jersey.
Develop project design criteria, calculations, construction details, quantities, and cost estimates.
Prepare and check design drawings and/or specifications.
Control cost and quality on projects within discipline.
Resolve issues, investigate design and field difficulties, and coordinate schedules.
Coordinate efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Serve as a task lead on projects in the planning and design phases.
What We Prefer
Experience in bridge and transportation structures design.
Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, AASHTO Seismic Guide Specifications.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
