Project Management Consultant – Child Protection Alliance
Location: Remote (NYHQ)
Duration: 20 Nov 2025 – 31 Jul 2027
Overview UNICEF leads global child protection, and the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action supports humanitarian actors. This consultancy supports planning, monitoring & evaluation (M&E), grant management, and convening for the Alliance.
Responsibilities
Task 1: Monitoring & Evaluation
Develop and implement M&E tools and surveys for the Alliance’s activities.
Collect and process data from Working Groups, Task Forces and Initiatives to assess progress.
Support mid- and final review of the Alliance’s Strategic Brief.
Prepare and assess M&E reports for the Strategic Brief.
Compile the Alliance’s Annual Reports.
Task 2: Fundraising & Grant Management
Support working groups and the secretariat in developing concept notes and proposals.
Maintain a central tracking system for all grants.
Track budget flows and produce updates on financial performance.
Support preparation of donor reports in a timely fashion.
Task 3: Planning Processes
Support the secretariat, Working Groups and Task Forces on annual workplan revisions.
Support the development and updating of the Alliance strategy beyond the 2025/2026 Strategic Brief.
Task 4: Strategic Brief Implementation
Support the Alliance’s efforts on the climate crisis and child protection, including collaboration with the University of Oxford.
Support the implementation of the Evidence-to-Advocacy Research Agenda and related technical groups.
Task 5: Convening Efforts
Support the organization of the Annual Meeting for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.
Provide administrative and logistical support for the Alliance internal annual meeting.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree in social work, international relations, psychology or development studies.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian or development sectors.
Demonstrable M&E skills and strong writing and editing skills for publication.
Experience in fundraising and grant management.
Experience in planning and report writing within a network space.
Familiarity with the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action is desirable.
Experience managing events is desirable.
Strong team‑player attitude and ability to take initiative to fill gaps.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to operate remotely across multiple time zones.
