Senior Director, Human Resources – Central Teams Blizzard Entertainment has led the entertainment industry for more than 30 years. As our Central Teams continue to evolve and scale, we must strengthen our people practices to retain and engage the best talent.

We are seeking a candidate who will lead Human Resources strategy across Blizzard’s Central Teams – including Story & Franchise Development, Product Management/Global Insights, Marketing, QA, Platform & Technology and IT – building strong relationships with leadership and establishing critical people priorities for the business.

A key advisor to the Chief People Officer, the Senior Director, HR for Central Teams significantly contributes to the company’s performance by ensuring the provision of full stack solutions on critical talent, overall workforce effectiveness, and enabling organizational capabilities that directly support the achievement of business objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead & Develop – Manage and mentor a team of HR professionals, ensuring their growth while fostering a high-performing, inclusive team environment.

Shape the Future – Partner with senior leadership to evolve Blizzard’s HR function from a service-oriented model to a more strategic and scalable approach that drives a high-quality talent agenda and strategy for the organization.

Optimize Organizational Design – Align HR strategies with Blizzard’s evolving business needs, particularly within Central Teams (including Story & Franchise Development, Product Management/Global Insights, Marketing, QA, Platform & Technology and IT) and build strong functional organizations that deliver excellence across Blizzard while attracting, retaining and development talent.

Drive Change & Scalability – Support leadership through organizational shifts, including Microsoft integration impacts, ensuring HR is positioned as a trusted strategic partner.

Balance Standardization & Customization – Ensure HR solutions are scalable and consistent across Central functions while adaptable to unique team needs.

Develop Leaders & Succession Planning – Identify, develop, and elevate leadership talent across Central Teams to strengthen Blizzard’s long-term growth.

Ensure Alignment – Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to implement HR initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and team effectiveness while maintaining employee engagement.

Deliver Measurable Impact – Drive HR strategies that improve performance, retention, engagement, and business outcomes across Central Teams.

Labor & Union Relations – Provide strategic leadership in labor relations, serving as a trusted advisor on complex union environments and shaping proactive strategies that balance compliance, employee advocacy, and long-term business objectives.

Player Profile – Qualifications

15+ years of experience in human resources or related fields, including 7+ years in a leadership capacity.

Previous experience in leadership roles spanning Employee/Labor Relations and HRBP/People Partner functions is a strong advantage.

Previous experience in the entertainment industry and/or experience supporting operational and technical organizations.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Proven HR leadership expertise in workforce planning, organizational design, and change management.

Strong business acumen and executive presence with a history of aligning people strategies with operational excellence.

Exceptional communication, influence, and relationship-building skills.

Experience fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

Data-driven mindset with HR analytics expertise.

Proven track record of innovative HR solutions to organizational challenges.

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; high IQ, EQ, passion and strong critical thinking skills.

Demonstrated success in executive coaching and talent development.

Highest level of integrity with the ability to gain trust across all levels of the organization.

Pay & Incentives In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $148,320.00 – $274,320.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
