Summary The Specialist, Marketing Automation & Technology plays a key role in strengthening SHRM’s marketing technology team by driving efficient operations, providing responsive troubleshooting, and supporting cross-platform performance. With a primary focus on Adobe Marketo Engage and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), this role enables smooth campaign execution and effective use of Integautomation tools to engage SHRM audiences. The Specialist will also support SHRM’s broader marketing technology stack including Marketo, AJO, Vibes SMS, Dynamic Chat, Jasper AI to optimize processes, deliver accurate reporting and maintain reliable platform operations.

Responsibilities Marketing Technology Support & Maintenance

Assists in the day-to-day maintenance and optimization of Marketo, AJO, Vibes SMS, Dynamic Chat, and Jasper AI.

Serves as the lead for managing service requests, diagnosing problems, and resolving platform performance issues across the marketing technology stack.

Monitors campaigns, data flows and platform syncs to help ensure accurate reporting and audience segmentation.

Supports the marketing technology team in identifying opportunities for platform efficiencies and process improvements.

Stakeholder Support

Serves as a first responder to basic platform-related questions, requests, and troubleshooting from marketing stakeholders.

Works with campaign leads and channel managers to set up and execute campaigns within marketing automation platforms.

Collaborates with IT, analytics, and external vendors as needed to elevate and resolve issues.

Platform Enablement & Documentation

Helps maintain documentation and resources related to platform use and configurations.

Assists team members in preparing internal resources and best practice guides for the marketing organization.

Education & Experience Requirements Education

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, data analytics, business or equivalent experience or relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Experience

Three (3) or more years of experience in marketing automation, email marketing, or digital marketing, preferably in both B2B and B2C environments.

Hands-on experience with Adobe Marketo Engage and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).

Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and integrating them with Marketo and marketing technology platforms.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to effectively leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and improve overall work quality.

Understanding of marketing automation basics, including audience segmentation, personalization, and email governance and SMS/MMS best practices.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.

Certifications

Adobe Marketo Engage Business Practitioner or Adobe Journey Optimizer Business Practitioner a plus.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling documents, and using office equipment.

Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds as needed.

Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and stakeholders.

Work Environment Hybrid Position (3 Days In-Office, 2 Days Remote)

This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with Tuesday through Thursday in office and Monday and Friday remote. Employees must be available during standard business hours, with core hours beginning between 8:00AM – 9:00AM and concluding between 5:00PM – 6:00PM.

Travel 0 – 10%

The hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $82,500 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
