Senior Data Scientist
Strata Decision Technology seeks a Senior Data Scientist to partner with leading healthcare providers, leveraging financial, operational, and clinical data to drive mission impact and financial health.
How you’ll make an impact As a Senior Data Scientist, you will apply data mining and statistical analysis to healthcare and financial data, clean and verify data integrity, develop and maintain models and algorithms that automate processes and generate insights, collaborate with data engineering, software development, and product management to translate business problems into data science solutions, communicate complex findings effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences, and contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities Apply data mining techniques and statistical analysis to healthcare and financial data across our customer base. Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis and modeling. Become an expert in our data, conduct ad hoc analyses that support thought leadership, and identify opportunities to extend our data assets with third‑party sources of information when needed. Develop, evaluate, deploy, monitor, and maintain models and algorithms that automate manual processes, enrich existing data assets, produce deep insights, and yield new data products. Collaborate closely with data engineering, software development, and product management to translate business problems into data science solutions integrated into StrataJazz, our enterprise SaaS solution. Communicate complex technical concepts and analytical findings effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences through visualizations, documentation, and presentations to drive decision making. Contribute to a culture of collaboration, learning, technical excellence, and continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, skills, and ideas with others.
Qualifications 4–6 years of experience in data science roles, preferably within the healthcare or financial services sectors. Strong proficiency in Python, command line, scripting, and environment management tools. Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to explore, cleanse, and analyze messy data in large and complex relational databases. Demonstrated experience in data analysis and applied statistical modeling. Experience with machine learning techniques, models, algorithms, and frameworks (e.g., classification, regression, clustering, XGBoost, scikit‑learn). Expertise in time series modeling and forecasting a strong plus. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to translate strategic questions into tactical work plans and outputs that deliver meaningful business value. Experience with Snowflake, and familiarity with ETL processes and frameworks like dbt. Experience building analytical and data science products within a SaaS framework. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present findings to differing audiences.
Estimated Salary Range $105,000 – $135,000. Actual salary will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skill set and level of experience. Strata also provides discretionary variable pay programs based on role.
