CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Tester within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities.
The Tester ensures software and applications meet quality standards before release. This includes developing and executing test plans, identifying defects, collaborating with development teams, and documenting findings. Testers also analyze software for functionality, usability, and performance, and may be involved in both manual and automated testing.

This position is located in Arlington, VA, however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Test Planning and Execution: Creating and implementing test strategies, test cases, and test plans to verify software functionality and identify potential issues.
- Defect Detection and Reporting: Identifying, documenting, and reporting software defects using designated tools, and collaborating with developers to resolve them.
- Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Regression Testing: Ensuring that updates and changes to the software do not introduce new defects.
- Performance and Usability Testing: Evaluating the software's performance under various conditions and assessing its ease of use for end-users.
- Test Automation: Developing and implementing automated tests to improve efficiency and coverage, particularly for repetitive tasks.
- Security Testing: Identifying potential security vulnerabilities in the software and contributing to its overall security posture.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 to 8 years of experience.
- Security Clearance: Able to Obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Poly, active TS/SCI with Poly highly desired.
- Analytical Skills: To break down complex systems, identify potential issues, and analyze data.
- Attention to Detail: To meticulously review software, identify defects, and document findings.
- Communication Skills: To effectively communicate with development teams and stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Depending on the role, this can include knowledge of testing tools, programming languages (for automation), and operating systems.
- Problem-Solving Skills: To troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions.
CGI Federal’s compensation range for this role in the U.S. is $88,200.00 - $214,800.00.
