We have partnered with a well established law firm in Houston, Texas in the Greenway Plaza area, seeking an organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist to provide administrative support across all human resources functions. This role focuses on maintaining HR records, managing HR systems, processing employee transactions, and supporting day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate has strong administrative skills, is highly organized, and can ensure smooth HR processes.

This a fully onsite position. Experience in the legal field preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR files, and HRIS data.
  • Process employee onboarding and offboarding, including documentation and system setup.
  • Assist with interviewing process including scheduling, tracking and pre-screening.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, updates, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Support payroll processing by preparing data, tracking time-off, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support performance management processes, including tracking evaluations and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Respond to routine HR inquiries from employees and managers in a timely manner.
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of HR administrative or generalist experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, recordkeeping, and employment laws.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with payroll systems and benefits administration. (ADP a plus)
  • Experience in the legal field preferred but not required
