We have partnered with a well established law firm in Houston, Texas in the Greenway Plaza area, seeking an organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist to provide administrative support across all human resources functions. This role focuses on maintaining HR records, managing HR systems, processing employee transactions, and supporting day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate has strong administrative skills, is highly organized, and can ensure smooth HR processes.
This a fully onsite position. Experience in the legal field preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR files, and HRIS data.
- Process employee onboarding and offboarding, including documentation and system setup.
- Assist with interviewing process including scheduling, tracking and pre-screening.
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, updates, reconciliation and reporting.
- Support payroll processing by preparing data, tracking time-off, and resolving discrepancies.
- Support performance management processes, including tracking evaluations and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Respond to routine HR inquiries from employees and managers in a timely manner.
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of HR administrative or generalist experience.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes, recordkeeping, and employment laws.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with payroll systems and benefits administration. (ADP a plus)
- Experience in the legal field preferred but not required
