IT Desktop Support Engineer

Sky Systems | Onsite – Cincinnati, OH, US (300 E Business Way, Fifth Floor, Cincinnati, OH 45241, United States) | 9‑Month contract with possibility for extension

Responsibilities

• Provide IT infrastructure field support by troubleshooting hardware, software, and operating system issues while maintaining hardware warranty and customer security compliance.
• Install, troubleshoot, and resolve issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and other computer peripherals.
• Apply basic enterprise LAN/WAN knowledge and perform smart‑hand activities at sites.
• Perform desk‑side support and PC break/fix, including basic administration of Windows, macOS, and Linux OS.
• Utilize TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP knowledge to troubleshoot network connectivity.
• Support peripheral and networking hardware such as monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, fax machines, scanners, routers, switches, firewalls, racks, cabinets and multi‑port termination panels.
• Investigate and resolve end‑user network cabling and system issues using deductive reasoning skills.
• Analyze repeat calls, develop preventative actions, and contribute to problem management.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in IT infrastructure support, troubleshooting hardware/software, and operating system issues.
• Associate degree in Electronics or related field and CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
• Additional vendor certifications from OEMs (Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, etc.) are a plus.
• Experience with ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.).
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills with clients and management.
• Strong customer‑management skills and ability to interact with customers at all levels.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Proactive ownership and sense of urgency with deadline focus.
• Physical ability to lift or move computer equipment up to 50 lbs.
