The Position Our client is seeking a Sr. Commercial Underwriting Manager in greater Miami, FL. This role supports the bank’s functions related to analysis, underwriting, and loan approval/denial processes across various lending types, including C&I Lending, Mortgage Lending, Equipment Finance, Commercial Real Estate Lending, and Consumer Lending. The role involves working with a team of Credit Analysts, Underwriters, and support staff to manage risk, service, and compliance with credit policies and systems.
The position offers a salary up to $150K and an excellent benefits package. Periodic travel is required.
(This is not a remote position)
Responsibilities
Review and approve credit requests ensuring compliance with policy guidelines.
Approve or deny loans within your credit authority across various lending groups.
Establish and manage systems to protect the quality and profitability of the loan portfolio.
Provide training and development for credit analysts and underwriting staff.
Advise staff on lending policies and standards.
Assist in creating and maintaining policies and procedures.
Facilitate external loan reviews and serve as a key contact for audits and compliance.
Administer the bank’s lending origination systems for different loan types.
Manage relationships with vendors, including lending software partners and credit report providers.

Skills and experience include:
At least 8 years of experience in bank lending, with in-depth knowledge of credit analysis and banking regulations.
Experience with a bank of at least $2B in assets.

Proficiency in Excel and ratio calculations for credit analysis.
Previous credit approval authority.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting.
