Senior Accountant

Job Summary The Senior Accountant executes critical accounting and reporting functions, supports the monthly and year‑end close cycle, coordinates audit activities, and drives process improvements within the Finance department.
Responsibilities
Monthly close: prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Reconciliations: own balance sheet account reconciliations and customer account reconciliations.
Audit & compliance: serve as the primary contact for internal and external auditors, prepare schedules, and maintain audit documentation.
Analysis & reporting: support cost reporting, project and job costing, prepare management reports, and explain variances.
Process improvements: recommend and implement automation, reporting accuracy, and close timeline acceleration.
Collaboration: partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cash & Collections, mentor junior staff, and resolve exceptions.
Skills & Qualifications
GAAP knowledge and application of accounting standards.
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) and ERP proficiency.
Track record managing monthly close, reconciliations, and reporting under tight deadlines.
Analytical mindset connecting reconciliations to broader financial results.
High attention to detail, organization, and accountability.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative cross‑functional teamwork and mentorship of junior team members.
Preferred
Manufacturing or project‑based accounting experience, including cost accounting and project profitability analysis.
Experience preparing audit schedules and supporting internal or external audits.
ERP implementation or system enhancement project experience.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience.
CPA designation or active pursuit preferred.
