Principal Risk Specialist role at

Capital One . Build relationships with business partners and develop and implement innovative risk solutions. You will be the front line of defense to ensure Capital One remains stable and profitable. Capital One’s Operational Risk Challenge & Advisory (ORCA) group comprises 2nd line Risk Management professionals dedicated to identifying and mitigating operational risks and collaborating with executives to implement solutions. Responsibilities

Provide 2nd line effective challenge and advice to the 1st line on risk assessments and related processes, including Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA), Process Level Assessments (PLA), Product Risk Assessment (PRA), and Launch initiatives. Document and communicate results of challenge activities; perform detailed data analysis to identify risks, problem areas, and develop/remediate actions. Serve as subject matter expert to Business Risk Office (BRO) and Independent Risk Management (IRM) in the assessment of operational risk. Collaborate across Operational Risk Management, Risk Oversight Programs, Enterprise Risk Management, Business Risk Offices, Internal Audit, and other groups to achieve objectives. Build relationships and become a trusted advisor to the first line Business Risk Offices. Actively participate in team efforts within ORCA and maintain proficiency in Enterprise Risk Management’s Risk and Control Standards. Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or military experience At least 2 years of experience in Risk Management, Audit, Finance, or Accounting Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree 3+ years of experience in Risk Management, Audit, Finance, or Accounting 1+ years of experience in Process Management Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Project Management Professional (PMP) Advanced skills in Google Sheets and Google Docs Advanced skills in data analysis and data visualization tools (Tableau) Sponsorship and Compensation

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated. The actual salary will be reflected in the offer letter. McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 Richmond, VA: $106,700 - $121,700 Riverwoods, IL: $106,700 - $121,700 Candidates hired to work in other locations will be paid according to the local pay range. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation that may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Benefits and Employment Details
