Job Summary Working as the Executive Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in managing the Culinary Department for the dining program, supervising menu development, and overseeing kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef with cost control and dining program expenditures.
Plan and create menus, including daily menu items and garnishment.
Produce and execute catering events as needed.
Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with marketing and culinary teams.
Research and develop recipes and ingredients.
Support overall wellness initiatives for the café program.
Conduct daily safety, quality assurance, and safety walk-throughs.
Manage hourly café teams.
Order, receive, and code invoices with proper AP.
Provide safety and sanitation training for Compass Compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
A.S. or equivalent culinary experience.
Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
Catering experience a plus.
High volume, complex foodservice operations experience.
Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful.
Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
Compensation & Benefits Salary: $80,000 - $86,500 per year.
