Job Summary
The Senior CMDB Analyst will support a complex configuration management database (CMDB) project involving a ServiceNow upgrade, system convergence, and data center tracking. This role ensures CMDB data integrity, accuracy, and alignment with ITIL standards to deliver a trusted and high-quality data source for IT operations. The analyst will play a key role in a major financial institution serving more than 17,000 employees and managing over $200 billion in assets, supporting enterprise-level data accuracy and governance. Raleigh, NC Key Responsibilities
Support ongoing CMDB initiatives including ServiceNow upgrades, convergence projects, and data center migrations. Collaborate with data center managers to ensure
completeness and accuracy
of CMDB information, especially for configuration item (CI) location and tracking. Design, develop, and produce
reports and dashboards
using CMDB data (e.g., inventory, management, impact analysis, configuration status). Utilize the CMDB Query Builder to create
cross-functional data views
and improve visibility across systems. Maintain and optimize
CMDB Health configurations
and develop custom KPIs for performance tracking. Support operating procedures for CMDB audits and identify
continuous improvement
opportunities. Operate independently in a
fast-paced IT environment
with minimal supervision. Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 8+ years
of relevant experience in Information Technology. 3+ years
working directly with CMDB and the
CSDM framework . ITIL v3 or v4 certification
with advanced understanding of configuration management, ITAM, and ITSM processes. Nice-to-Have Experience
Prior experience in the
financial services or banking industry . Background in large-scale enterprise CMDB implementations or data migrations. Experience collaborating with multiple cross-functional IT teams. Required Skills
