(professional proficiency in both spoken and written) is a must. Experience at a manufacturing plant with
200+ employees
(or similar scale) is required. Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire a small HR team (1 direct report) and influence site leadership. Strong track record of driving cohesion in new or transitioning leadership teams. Experience in a
unionized environment
is strongly preferred. In‑depth working knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, OSHA, etc.). Demonstrated experience in all major HR domains: employee relations, performance management, recruiting, compliance, training, etc. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to build trust at all levels. High professionalism, discretion, and skill handling confidential matters. Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary HR advisor to site leadership and to hourly and salaried employees, providing strategic and tactical HR support to promote culture and alignment with company values. Assume full responsibility for complex HR matters, including employee relations, investigations, performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution. Oversee the performance review and goal-setting cycles for the plant, ensuring complete, timely, and aligned execution. Develop and execute staffing strategies for the site (200+ headcount), lead hourly recruiting efforts, and coordinate with corporate on exempt/salaried hiring. Deliver clear, engaging employee communications on compensation, benefits, open enrollment, performance programs, and HR initiatives. Partner with departmental leadership to review jobs, update descriptions, and clarify roles and responsibilities. Oversee compliance and administrative HR functions (I‑9, EEO, recordkeeping, unemployment, worker’s comp, onboarding, terminations) for the plant. Support safety, operations, and return‑to‑work programs in collaboration with those functions.
